Gastronomic hierarchy

The Gastronomic hierarchy is a philosophy in Gastronomy that associates a particular title with individuals that enjoy food and drink.

At the bottom of the hierarchy is the Goinfre (or Greedy-Guts) and at the top is the Gastronome.

The hierarchy is as follows:

Gastronome
Gourmet (A connoisseur of food and drink)
Epicure (Friand)
Gourmand (One who enjoys eating)
Goulu (Glutton)
Goinfre (Greedy-guts)
